ChatAspen – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 October 2026 · Publisher: CloudAspen · Contact: [email protected]

ChatAspen is an app for Jira Cloud, built on Atlassian Forge, that posts Jira notifications into Google Chat spaces that a Jira administrator has chosen.

What the app reads

When an issue is created, updated, commented on, assigned or someone is mentioned in it, Jira sends the app the issue key, summary, project, issue type, status, priority, assignee and reporter, the fields that changed, and the text of new comments. The app also looks up the display names of the people involved so that cards show names instead of account ids, and, when a rule filters by group, the groups of the assignee and reporter.

Where it goes

Notifications are sent only to the Google Chat incoming-webhook URLs that your Jira administrator pasted into the app. The only external service the app talks to is chat.googleapis.com (Google). Nothing is sent to CloudAspen or to anyone else. The app includes no analytics, tracking or advertising.

What is stored

Stored in Atlassian's Forge storage, inside your Atlassian site and never outside Atlassian:

Retention and deletion

Uninstalling the app deletes all of its storage automatically. Deleting a rule deletes its webhook URL and log. Messages already posted to Google Chat remain in Google Chat under Google's terms.

Data residency

Not applicable: the app stores no data outside Atlassian. Notifications pass through Google's servers when delivered to Google Chat.

Access by CloudAspen

CloudAspen has no access to your Jira data, your rules or your webhook URLs. Support is handled through the information you choose to share with us.

Changes
